Definitely going to shove this video into Hawk's face.  ;)  We plan to get into a tabletop game called Trench Crusade and he wants to paint the minis we get for it. Painting minis looks a little too tedious for my giant fingers, though. :P

Raise your hand if you were ever into Warhammer. Fantasy, 40k, Age of Sigmar, Necromunda, Blood Bowl, Battlefleet Gothic, doesn't matter. I was a Fantasy fan in the early 2000s, and I had a collection of both Skaven and Lizardmen.
It's been a good 15 years since I had to leave everything behind, and that includes my minis. I don't have a lot of interest in playing the games these days, but I do want very much to start collecting and painting minis again.
GW prices are egregious, you could spend anywhere from 50 to 200 dollars on a single mini, and it wasn't always this bad. The size of their paint pots have also shrunk dramatically while the pricetag has only gone up.

If the title of this thread isn't enough indication, this isn't just about Warhammer. There are so many places you can find incredible minis of just about anything you can imagine for pretty reasonable prices. If you do like Warhammer, that means you have lots of options for great looking proxies that will cost less than what good old James Workslop will charge you. Or maybe you're like me and just want some cool looking little dudes to litter your living space.
If you know a site that sells minis, either physically or .stl files to print your own, please share! If you have photos of minis you've assembled/painted, please share!
I want to share a creator that embodies the best of the hobby. With his soft-spoken presentation and relaxed, positive attitude, I would call him the Bob Ross of mini painting. His channel has a lot of videos of him painting minis, but also videos discussing how minis and paints are manufactured, the strengths and weaknesses of particular brands of model paint, and features a lot of "third party" and independent mini creators.

This thread is one I'm making for ref images for me and for others to use as inspiration and ideas for their own worlds they're building.

Ironically today's post comes from what Microsoft showed me when I turned on my computer today.

This is the Chand Baori. (<- link to Wikipedia article)
