Title: Tactics remake!!!!!
Post by: clockworkmonkey on Jun 13, 2025, 10:25 AM
Final Fantasy Tactics, one of my all-time favorite RPGs (and if you know me, you know I'm a complete SLUT for RPGs) is getting a remaster come September and I'm hype as FUCK.
I could live without Square putting smoothing filters on games with pixel graphics, but at least this has the option to turn it off. And with improved menus (the job system has a built-in flow chart) and fully voiced dialogue using the War of the Lions translation, it looks like there's much more good to be had here.
I wish I could have gotten the collector's edition, but I really can't justify spending $200 right now and they sold out almost immediately...IMG_20250604_233814_366.jpg

I got excited for this too because assuming the remake remains faithful and good it'll be my first time ever playing the game! I was going to play the original eventually, but now it feels like I don't have to? Or maybe I should just to see what the remake is like? Hmmm... That might be a more fun idea...

This looks to be a pretty definitive edition of the game. I don't know what they'll be replacing the extra characters with (the original had Cloud and the PSP version Luso from Tactics Advance 2) but the core of the game looks the same. Obviously I recommend it, how could I not with as many times as I've played the other two versions.
It releases September 30th and will be on Steam and all modern consoles, so you have time and you have options
